Add some smart lighting to your home with the $90 Philips Hue starter kit

Start somewhere. Start here.

This Philips Hue Premium Smart Light 2-bulb starter kit is going for $89.99 on Amazon. That's not quite Black Friday pricing, but it's only $10 more. Considering this kit was $150 at the beginning of November, that's a solid discount.

The starter kit includes with two Philips Hue white and color A19 60W equivalent LED smart bulbs, the Philips Hue hub, and a three-year warranty. You can choose from more than 16 million colors and shades to set the bulbs to using the Hue app. The hub can support up to 50 bulbs as well, so you can keep adding onto the system. Once you connect the bulbs to the hub, you can also hook your lights into your smart home ecosystem and control it all with just your voice with devices like the Amazon Echo. In fact, if that's your goal you can get this bundle that includes the starter kit above plus a 3rd-generation Amazon Echo Dot for $104.99. That's like getting the Echo for $25 instead of its current price of $30, but it might not arrive before Christmas if you're looking for a gift.

Considering individual bulbs cost about $50 right now and this kit comes with the $48 bridge that is essential to the Philips Hue setup, this deal is a great price. The kit has 4.1 stars based on 101 user reviews.
